Review: 2025 GMC Terrain Review and Specs
The first generation of the GMC Terrain was introduced in 2010, while the second generation made its debut for the 2018 model year. Now, the third generation model is on its way and will debut on the 2025 GMC Terrain. Soon-to-be-released 2025 GMC Terrain information has been provided by GM Authority.
The GMC Terrain AT4 off-road trim level will be improved for the 2025 model year, with enhanced off-road performance and a more rugged appearance. This also includes the General Grabber AT tires that will presumably be included on the new Elevation trim level to the lineup.
Specs
The 2025 GMC Terrain will naturally be offered as a compact crossover with five doors, and its overall dimensions and footprint will be comparable to those of the current generation. However, the exterior aesthetics of the new 2025 Terrain will be completely redesigned with a more expressive design and a more upright profile compared to the current model. Mark Reuss, president of General Motors, stated that the 2025 GMC Terrain will have the appearance of a strong, rugged truck.
In addition, the 2025 GMC Terrain features a new headlight design with the implementation of GMC's signature C-shaped headlights, which are mirrored by the C-shaped taillights and dual exhaust system. In addition, the AT4 model will feature new wheel designs, and the Elevation may feature a more evocative design.
Redesign
Fans of GMC will be ecstatic to learn that the interior of the 2025 GMC Terrain will be entirely redesigned, with better ergonomics and more usable space. On upper trim levels, in addition to a new gauge cluster and a new infotainment system with a larger screen, a fully digital gauge cluster will be available.
In addition, the vehicle will feature a new steering wheel, new colors, new materials, enhanced safety technology, and potentially a GM Super Cruise system.
Engine
The 2025 GMC Terrain will also be equipped with a new, small-displacement, turbocharged engine that will be coupled with a GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive will be available to reduce engine output.
The 2025 GMC Terrain will be powered by the D2-2 architecture, essentially an updated version of the GM D2 platform that underpins the current model. Electronic architecture GM Global B will support the most recent technological features.
Release Date and Production
It is likely that production will take place at GM's San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico, given the rate of production. The first units are expected to arrive in late 2024 or early 2025. Production is expected to commence in the middle of the year 2024. North America, the Middle East, and South Korea will all be able to purchase the 2025 GMC Terrain.
